You think everything’s good, everything’s fine…and then you wake up the next day and you’re on fire. The Midwestern Charm are experts at those sharp, lovable pop tunes drenched in feedback and found in the basement with a fifth of Jack. Influenced in equal parts pinball machines, the Lemonheads, pizza and the Replacements. Just add booze. The quartet creates sounds like someone threw their only can opener into a blender and realized the buzz was in the same key as Sam Cooke’s Bring It On Home To Me. Tune into WMSE’s Local/Live on Tuesday, August 19th at 6pm to listen to new songs from the band’s second album, Growing Pains. 91.7 FM on your radio dial or WMSE.org to stream live or in the archives.
