Dead Pawn is the new project of Kenneth Sabbar, alumnus of the legendary underground rockers Dawn of Man. The year 2013 saw the release of the noisy and beat-driven Digital Heatwave as well as the initial offering from Cover Charges, an ongoing ode to video game music.
Now – in 2014 – Dead Pawn is back with Sleeper Cell. The album is a marked divergence into a much quieter, much more restrained milieu. It is an understated, sprawling 16 track drone-based opus. Sleeper Cell exists in that delicate, almost cinematic space between just enough information to keep it interesting and not enough to tell the entire story.
