WMSE is a unique, award-winning music radio station licensed by MSOE and operating as a department of the university. WMSE Radio, 91.7FM has been broadcasting since 1981. Financially independent from the university, WMSE is made possible with the support of volunteers, local businesses, and of course, our contributing listeners.
Membership at WMSE
Contributions from active members make up over two-thirds of WMSE’s annual operating budget. That means that WMSE really is listener supported radio! Every dollar that the station receives from listeners who enjoy WMSE’s programming goes towards helping WMSE sustain and grow.
As a thank you for your support of community-powered radio, we offer exclusive events, member-only ticket giveaways, and limited-time premium thank you gifts. Additionally, MSOE is a 501(c)(3) organization, so your financial support is considered a tax-deductible charitable gift. Sound Citizen Sustaining Memeber Program
A sustaining gift is a simple convenient way to support WMSE year round! WMSE Sound Citizens make ongoing monthly, recurring gifts to the station for as long they desire. Sound Citizens provide sustainable year-round revenue to WMSE and do not need to renew, so you are not sent renewal notices.
