Matt Pond PA, best known for summery, AM radio pop, have been busy making good use of the wave of sounds that Josh Rouse, Matthew Sweet and Brendan Benson brought into play in the late 90′s/early 00′s. Together since 1998, the band (Matt Pond on guitar/vox, Chris Hansen on keyboard/guitar, Leslie Sisson on guitar, George Souleidis on bass and Brad Gunyon on drums) call Philadelphia home, with Pond traveling in between Brooklyn, Los Angeles and Tucson. The band’s latest collection of songs, entitled Last Light, was recently released on Altitude Records.

In between stops from DeKalb to Omaha, Matt Pond PA bring their music into the studios of WMSE this afternoon on Faux Eyes’ show (in fact, they’re doing sound check duties right now). Tune in and listen on your radio dial or stream online at WMSE.org. Catch the band later tonight at the Mad Planet (533 E. Center Street) as they play a 9 p.m. show with Bobby Long.
