Hot Chip Makes Our [Happy] Monday

WMSE knows that Milwaukee likes Hot Chip, the Grammy-accoladed electropop band from London — the band made it to our city twice in 2006, their last performance a sweaty,  but fun dance party at Stonefly. These boys have been kicking it around since 2000, releasing scores of catchy and tweak-y pop singles such as “Over and Over”, (Just Like We) Breakdown” and “And I Was a Boy From School”, which was named the best single of 2006 by NME.

If we’re good guessers, Milwaukee will be pleased with Hot Chip’s latest, which EMI is calling ” a full-blooded leap into the unknown…an album that is awash with Hot Chip’s trademark creative bravery and a searing emotional intensity from first track to last…[their] most complete body of work to date…more cohesive and soulful than 2007′s ambidextrous Made in the Dark and more ambitious than 2005′s Mercury nominated and Grammy award winning The Warning.” We’re also taking a wild guess that Btswrkng just might be spinning some new Hot Chip on his show tonight (9 p.m. – 12 a.m.). Tune in at 91.7 FM on your radio dial or stream online atWMSE.org to catch some fresh electronic creativity from across the pond.
