It’s been almost 13 years since Milwaukee’s Benjamins released The Art of Disappointment on Drive-Thru Records, and more than a decade since the band toured with Reel Big Fish and hit the Warped Tour circuit. The band had a good run of things around the turn of the century, but ultimately had an early demise in 2003.
Now, Benjamins are back and reunited for the Pablove benefit concert (and maybe more?) happening at Turner Hall Ballroom on January 18. They also recorded their first new song in over a decade – a power-pop gem that pulls no punches – “Corvette Summer” that will be put out along with three previously unreleased tracks and what the band believes is their best song, “3,720 to 1.” The Back on Track EP is set to be released by Good Land Records (founded by Benjamins drummer Jonny Phillip, Ben Perlstein helps run it) at the Turner Hall Pablove benefit show.
Listen to the first Benjamins track recording since 2001.
Also performing Pablove will be a reunited Alligator Gun, Vic and Gab, Subside and Chris Porterfield (Field Report).
