On Tuesday, August 18th at 6pm, join WMSE’s Local/Live for yet another summertime treat. For this special (and final summer venue edition of) Local/Live, we are again taking the segment to Club Garibaldi (2501 S. Superior Street) for not only a live radio segment that is free and open to the public to listen to and participate in (21+ only, please!), but an official album release, as well.

“Wesley Charles Tank has been performing art rap in Milwaukee under various pseudonyms since 2002. He has been a driving force for multiple projects such as Sun//Decrease, Bread Mothers, 0CUL1, Antler Antennas and Stumblesome. Having performed as WC Tank in a variety of forms (including backed by Riley Lake and The Fatty Acids), Tank has now assembled his own band, including collaborators Erik Schoster (Geodes, He Can Jog), Nate Zabriskie (Geodes, Nomad Palace), keyboardist Kipp Zavada (Stumblesome, Antler Antennas), guitarist Kendra Calhoun (Names Divine) and drummer Renee Bebeau (Wendy Oh Wendy, Cackle). Tank is also joined by dancer Mauriah Kraker (kitchen dances) and visual artist Anja Notanja (La Prosette).

“WC Tank’s latest full length album, Vanishing Points, will be released on Myles Coyne’s BreadKing imprint, and features production from Riley Lake, Diablo the Left-Handed Surrealist (Josh Evert of the Fatty Acids), Seakn, Steel Tipped Dove and Nedarb Nagrom. “Vanishing Points” will be available August 18 on wctank.bandcamp.com and breadking.bandcamp.com.”

Vanishing Points will also be available at the show — stop by Club Garibaldi to grab a copy of the new tunes and catch those tunes, live on Local/Live with WC Tank (and his band). WMSE Music Director Erin Wolf and co-host Cal Roach, will lead WC Tank through questions in between a live set. You can get in on the interview, too; the audience will be active participants in the interview, allowed to pick the our guests’ brains by writing out their questions for Cal and Erin to ask, live on the radio. There will be a special 30-minute, off-air show set for those in attendance, to boot!

Doors are at 5:30pm, segment starts at 6pm.

If you can’t join us for the live segment and show at Club Garibaldi, please tune in, per usual, to 91.7 FM (or stream online at WMSE.org) at the 6 o’clock hour.

Local/Live on WMSE is sponsored by The Garage.
