The New Red Moons are an all-original, energetic rock trio who combine sparse, punchy instrumentals with soaring melodies and lush harmonies. Grabbing inspiration from 60s rock, old-timey folk and modern lo-fi, the New Red Moons have been building a fan-base in Milwaukee and the Midwest with five years of breathtaking performances and two full-length albums.
Formed in 2009, the band’s sound started to take shape from a shared affinity for 60s rock, indie and roots music, paired with a desire to create songs that were lyric and melody driven songs with raw intensity and definite hooks.
Their new (and second) album, Mesmérisme, seals their sound and brings out even more the band’s knack for close harmony singing. Listen to those new songs live on WMSE this Tuesday, July 8th as the band visits the studios for Local/Live.
6pm on your radio dial in the Milwaukee area at 91.7 FM or stream or download at WMSE.org live or in the archives.
