lordfredd33Creator of the “Godspel,” songwriter/performer Lord Fredd33 compels listeners with his deep, hypnotic drawl and mantra-style storytelling. His winding narratives depict life experiences abstracted and amplified as they run through his psyche. He has been quoted as saying “I’m doing this to save my soul,” explaining further that “music and performance are just as much a personal coping mechanism as they are a communal ritual.”

Fredd33 asserted himself this spring as another major force in the ongoing Milwaukee hip-hop renaissance with his new EP, The Education. While most of the city’s rappers are into a more upbeat, accessible style, Fredd33 takes a slower, more abstract approach, and the results are a very unique style that’s a little deeper and darker than most.

Catch some of the Brew City’s freshest sounds when Lord Fredd33 performs on WMSE’s Local/Live this Tuesday, June 30th—you can tune your radio dial to 91.7 FM at 6 p.m., or to listen live or in the archives, tune your internet browser to WMSE.org.
