Tune In: A Performance with Milwaukee’s Fellowship of the Strings

Fellowship of the Strings is a group of eight young string musicians from Wauwatosa West High School and Whitman Middle School. They spun off from the Center Street Fiddlers, a group led by David Topolovec at Wauwatosa Whitman Middle School. Whereas the Center Street Fiddlers played primarily Irish fiddle tunes, the Fellowship of the Strings has played everything from “Palladio” and the Beer Barrel Polka to music from the Fellowship of the Rings. This is their third year playing together at events such as the Lakefront Festival of the Arts, Empty Bowls, ArtWorks and the Wauwatosa Children’s Theater, among many others. Fellowship of the Strings make their debut radio appearance on WMSE’s Modern Chamber program with WMSE DJ Jason Wietlispach. Tune in to hear a live performance at 4:30pm CST this Sunday, February 16th – 91.7 on your FM dial in Milwaukee or stream at WMSE.org.
