Ho Ho Ho!
Once again, WMSE is looking forward to providing the perfect soundtrack to your holiday season; WMSE Music Director Erin Wolf has pulled thousands of hard-to-find and rare holiday hits for our DJs to comb through and either craft an entire show of festive music or liberally sprinkle the good cheer throughout their playlists.
Here are some of the holiday programs already ready to go and make sure to keep it tuned to the Big Sound Downtown throughout the holiday season for some big holiday tuneage you won’t hear anywhere else! Watch your heart grow more than three sizes each time, as we fill it with holiday cheer! You can bet your candycanes on it.
Special Shows:
Friday, Dec. 18 – 9 a.m. – Noon
A Very Special Holiday Chicken Shack – the Good John has put together a killer show that includes: prison songs, truckers, cowboys and rock-n-rollers.
Sunday, Dec. 20 – 10:30 p.m. – Midnight
Female Focus – Caryn will host a holiday show featuring women who rock!
Monday, Dec 21 – 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Buzz’s Garage – It’s all garage and punk holiday music. Rocking In A Winter Buzzyland!
Wednesday, Dec 23 – 12:30 p.m. – 3 p.m.
Holiday Inc. – Erin fills in for Sid’s Squid Inc. program, bringing you tons of tunes, mostly brand new with some golden oldies thrown in. There might be a Grinch in the mix, too (it’s tradition!)…
Thursday, Dec 24 – Christmas Eve – Midnight – 3 a.m.
Overnight Sensations’ Alternative Universe Christmas with Jon and Scott. You will be surprised and impressed by the tunes this crew manage to pull out of their music bag of tricks.
Thursday, Dec. 24 – Christmas Eve – Noon to 9 p.m.
DJ Paul Host will spin his annual holiday show. These hits include: Pee Wee King’s “Rootin’ Tootin’ Santa Claus”, Rev Horton Heat’s “Run Run Rudolph, ” and everyone’s childhood favorite, Lumberhorn’s“18 Wheels to Bethlehem.
