Dearest WMSE listeners and supporters,
It’s like we can almost taste the BBQ in the air here at the Mighty 91…those sweet tunes will also soon be wafting into our ears like the smell of BBQ in our nostrils.
WMSE is very much looking forward to you joining us at Cathedral Square Park tomorrow afternoon (Saturday, September 6th) for a beautiful day of music, food and each other’s company! WMSE Station Manager Tom Crawford also co-reported (with the help of the National Weather Service) today that the forecast is slated to be as such:
“Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 73. North wind 5 to 10 mph. Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 54. West wind around 5 mph.”
You can say that again. Okay, don’t actually say it again. Just KNOW it. Tomorrow, will be beautiful and below is added beauteousness in interview form.
WMSE is happy to not only welcome Indigenous and Los Straitjackets to the BBQ, but will also be welcoming both groups to WMSE before their BBQ sets for a chat and some bonus live tunes.
If you listened in on Jonny Z’s Chicken Shack earlier today, you might have caught a phone interview with Split Lip Rayfield’s banjo player, Eric Mardis, but don’t fret if you missed that; listen back in the WMSE archives.
Here are the details for a Saturday afternoon on WMSE with Indigenous and Los Straitjackets and their pre-BBQ set interviews:
5:30pm: Indigenous (live, on-air interview + live acoustic set from Mato Nanji)
6:30pm: Los Straitjackets (live, on-air interview)
And again, the details for the afternoon in Cathedral Square Park:
Backyard BBQ Lineup Details:
4pm – The Mike Benign Compulsion
5:10pm – Greatest Lakes
6:30pm – Split Lip Rayfield
8pm – Indigenous

See you there!
Love,
WMSE
